Q&A with Kat

What is your role at MyHealth1st?

“At MyHealth1st, I am the Lead Medical Assistant and truly wear many hats. Depending on the day, you may find me assisting with a procedure, performing thermography, or helping patients navigate their wellness protocols. One of my favorite parts of my role is being a patient liaison—helping people understand their health journey and feel supported every step of the way.”

“My goal is for every patient to leave feeling cared for, heard, and like part of our family.”

What drew you to this field?

“I was drawn to this field because of my own health challenges, including overcoming breast cancer and a rare oral cancer, as well as several major surgeries. Those experiences showed me there had to be a better way to approach health than simply managing symptoms and waiting for the next problem.”

“Finding my ‘tribe’ and family at MyHealth1st has truly felt like coming home.”

What do you enjoy outside of work?

“Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling, particularly to beaches. Any place with warm sand and salt water is my happy place.”

“I also share life with my Cane Corso, Freya, and in my downtime, I love reading anything supernatural. It helps me relax, unwind, and decompress.”

Compassion Rooted in Experience

One of the things patients appreciate most about Kat is that her compassion comes from experience. Having faced significant health challenges herself, she understands the importance of feeling heard, having hope, and finding a team that looks beyond symptoms to support, and care for, the whole person.

Her warmth, empathy, and dedication to helping others embody the mission of MyHealth1st, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our family.
