Weber Infrared Helmet

Weber Medical’s Infrared Helmet is designed to deliver transcranial photobiomodulation, targeting the brain to support cognitive functions and mental health. It is designed for home-use, so patients can own and operate their own devices outside a clinic setting.

Light Therapy

Infrared Helmet Key Features

  • 4 Intensity Levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
  • Maximum Power Output: 16W (50 mW/diode)
  • Session Length: 1-30 minutes with automatic shut-off
  • Frequency Range: 0-20,000 Hz
  • 320 Infrared LEDs: 810 nm wavelength for optimal brain penetration

How It Works

Transcranial Low-Level Laser Therapy (TLLLT) is the direct irradiation of the human brain with highly focused infrared lasers. Unlike other wavelengths, infrared light has the unique ability to penetrate bones and bring light energy to the targeted brain areas.

  • Infrared Light Penetration: The optimum wavelength for maximum skull penetration is between 805 nm and 830 nm (infrared). Studies show that the light can reach a depth of 4-5 cm past the skull, or about 3 cm into brain tissue. This allows for effective stimulation of brain cells.
  • Non-Invasive and Painless: LED therapy is non-invasive, painless, and non-thermal, ensuring a comfortable treatment experience without any heating of tissues.

Infrared Helmet Mechanisms of Action

  1. Cytochrome c Oxidase Activation: Light absorption by cytochrome c oxidase increases electron transfer and ATP production, improving cellular energy and function.
  2. Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) Modulation: Low levels of light modulate ROS, playing a role in cell signaling and protection against oxidative stress.
  3. Nitric Oxide (NO) Release: Light can release NO from its binding sites in cells, improving vasodilation and blood flow.
  4. Gene Expression Changes: Light therapy activates transcription factors and signaling pathways, leading to long-lasting changes in protein expression and cell behavior.

Benefits of Brain Photobiomodulation

  • Enhanced Brain Function: PBM can improve the metabolic capacity of neurons, stimulate anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and antioxidant responses, and promote neurogenesis and synaptogenesis.
  • Treatment of Neurological and Psychological Disorders: PBM is a promising therapy for a variety of conditions such as stroke, dementia, and other mental diseases. Preliminary studies indicate significant improvements in regional cerebral oxygen saturation and temperature regulation during and after stimulation.

Safe and Effective: Numerous studies have shown that PBM is a safe and effective treatment with no significant adverse effects when used properly. Long-term studies on animals have also confirmed its safety.

Try Before You Buy

We offer sessions in our office for those who would like to experience the benefits of the Weber EndoLight Band before purchasing. Your first session is complimentary. For the first 4 weeks, sessions are treated as a rent-to-own program at $50 per 30-minute session. The amount you spend on sessions will be credited towards the purchase price of the unit. After the 4-week period, if you do not commit to buying a unit, subsequent sessions will be out-of-pocket and will not go against the cost of the units.
